Manahattan Birthday Weekend

New York City on Saturday was so much fun. The weather was very spring... cool but warm enough to not need a coat. It was perfect weather for a walk through central park. We got to the city and parked near times square. We got Jamba Juice (yes! my favorite) and walked all the way up the park to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We took a tour of the museum, which I have never done. I loved it! Very informative and I saw lots of things I would have just walked right pass normally. After the museum we walked back down the park and went to Kate's Paperie. If you love paper and letterpress, definitely make Kate's a stop in the city. Afterwards we went and got some New York Cheesecake and ate dinner at John's Pizza (yummy!!!). I will never weary of visiting New York.

I loved this modern art piece. I had never noticed it before today in my many trips to the Met. Isn't it so gorgeous! The paint was the thickest I have ever seen on a painting that I remember.

Officially 28...

Here are a few highlights from my 28th Birthday.
A few of the gifts I received:
Lyle took me to get a pedicure:
Olivia made me chocolate white chocolate chip cookies. Yummy!
Lyle took me shopping!!! These were the coolest outlets. They had everything from Aeropostale to Chanel and Dior stores. I ended up buying an outfit from Banana Republic, a few things from Williams-Sonoma, and a tie for Ly at Fossil.
We got the yummiest frozen drinks at Godiva. They were dark chocolate raspberry.
My mom got sick on my birthday, so we are going to do my birthday dinner on Sunday. We are also going to New York City (my favorite place on earth) tomorrow to keep the celebration going. I had a WONDERFUL birthday this year.

Short Spring Cut

Today I went over to a friend's house who also styles hair and we cut each other's hair. My hair was REALLY damaged on the ends from coloring my hair so much this summer, so I had her cut it short... shorter than I have for a long time. I also did lots of layers, which I usually don't do. I like it! It is super easy and cute.

Bean Town

Lyle and I did a day trip to Boston today with my mom and our friend Stephanie. I have to say that I love Boston. It is such a gorgeous city. We walked the Freedom Trail and then went to Harvard to try and find a Jamba Juice. We never did find the Jamba, but it was fun driving all around Boston.

Here are photos of us at the Granary Cemetery. Lyle is in front of Paul Revere's grave and I am by the grave for the victims of the Boston Massacre.

Orange for the Green

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day I wanted us to do something fun, so Ly and I attempted making orange rolls for the first time. We used my Aunt Debbie's recipe. They were so yummy and we had fun making them together.

It's Pajama Time

I love pajamas!!! I wear them as often as possible (probably more often than what is appropriate). This weekend Old Navy had a 30% off sale and so Olivia and I went and both bought, among other things, a pair of roll up pajamas. They are so stinkin' cute and really really comfortable. I might have to go back and get another pair.

First attempt.

I have been wanting to try designing my blog for a while. For now I am just experimenting to figure out how everything works (headers, backgrounds, etc). I am also exploring designing my own patterns. Though it still needs ALOT of work (especially colors) I think this is a good start...

Quest for the States continues...

Lyle asked me to update his state map, so I decided to do mine as well. Our trip across the United States this past December was so much fun, though the weather was just terrible (it took us 2 days to drive through Iowa)! On the way I got 2 new states: Indiana and Michigan. I can't believe how close I am to getting all 50!

Dinogon

Every Sunday in church I do a drawing. Lately I have been doing something for each letter of the alphabet. Today I did "D". I started drawing a Dinosaur, but it turned into something else. I thought it was funny, so I am posting it on my blog. I love the one wing...
