The Baby Shower
The baby shower I put on for my friend, Alli, was today. It went really well. I decided I would post a picture of the diaper cake I made, the table set up, and the "baby necessities" gift I got her. It was fun, but I am so glad it is over. Things like this are stressful for me.
Birthday from my Babe
I was so excited when Lyle's birthday presents to me arrived. MY HUSBAND ROCKS! He got me a Vera Bradley duffel bag which is the perfect size for weekend trips and carrying onto airplanes, plus it is super feminine. He also got me a Holga Camera. No camera takes pictures as cool at a Holga. It is unpredictable, leaves lots of dust and scratches, and creates amazing vignettes around photographs. It is self progressing, so it is super easy to do multiple exposures. I am so excited to use it. I am saving it for Portland where there are cooler things to photograph.

My 27th Birthday
Yesterday (March 26th) was my birthday. Ly and I had plans to go to Jackson Hole for the day, but a crazy snow storm stopped us in our tracks. We made last minute new plans and ended up having a really fun day. (As I am Bush, you'll see a theme of food. Bush's include food in all celebrations!)
For Breakfast Ly made me waffles with strawberries and whip cream, and got me an orange dream machine jamba (my favorite!).

While Lyle was making breakfast, I opened my gifts. My Mother and Father in-law and my siter in law, Ruth, and her husband gave me the coolest gift. They got me a bunch or mismatched glasses from Urban Outfitters all in greens, oranges, and reds, and alsogiftcards to Anthropologie and Jamba Juice. I was giddy opening this gift.

Ly ordered my gift, but it is not going to get here until sometime today. I will post pictures of that later :).
After Breakfast Ly had to go to class, so I chilled and worked on a diaper cake I am making as a center piece at a baby shower I am doing this weekend (I'll post pictures of it later). When Ly got home we went to a local favorite dive, called Big Juds, that I have been wanting to go to before we move and got french fries and fry sauce for lunch. I LOVE fry sauce!!!

I have been wanting a cake stand, but not just any cake stand will do. I want something unique and versitile. Ly took me to Idaho Falls to searching for one. Unfortunately we didn't find one I fell in love with, but we did get this serving platter that I think is so great. We got it for an amazing deal, too, which is all the better.

After shopping, we went home. We rented Enchanted, made cookies, and cuddled as we watched the movie. I love just spending time with my husband. Nothing is better!

That night Ly made me a steak dinner and we had my grandma Stringham's ice cream sandwiches for dessert. We watched Lost and went to bed.

I had a great birthday! I loved spending the day with Lyle and I look forward to many more birthdays with him. He promised we would go to Jackson Hole before we move, so I am looking forward to that. I get to have a second birthday celebration when my mom gets into town and I can hardly wait!

Summer Showers
In a few weeks we are moving to Portland, Oregon. Ly got a summer research internship at Oregon Health and Science University. It is a fabulous school and this internship is going to look great on medical school applications which is exciting! I want Ly to get into the best medical school for his program.
.........................................................................................................................
I am especially excited that I get to spend the whole summer close to my sister Jess, and more importantly my new nephew Emerson. It will be fun to get to know my in-laws better, also.

St. Patrick's Day
Since this is Ly and my first St. Patrick's Day married, I wanted to do something fun. I decided to make a festive meal. It turns out I don't like most festive food of the holiday, particularly corned beef, so I came up with my own thing. I make pork chops and scalloped potatoes and steamed cabbage. We also had sparkling apple-grape juice and a chocolate satin pie for dessert. I think this will be our tradition. It was really good!

Always on a quest for shoes
I have been looking for a pair of pointy toes wedges to wear with dress pants to work. I am sure you are thinking that everywhere you turn there are pointy toe shoes, but I don't like the really long points. I think they make my feet look funny. Last week I came across these Kenneth Cole shoes at Macy's and had to get them. They are perfect! They are really comfortable and give just the right look with my dress pants.

I am still looking for a pair of brown wedges that I love, but haven't been able to find any yet. Hopefully soon! I am SUPER picky about the toe shape, so it makes shopping frustrating for me and for Lyle.

Birthday Wish List
Since it is my birthday at the end of the month, I thought I would make a birthday wish list, just for fun! (Everything Highlighted is a link to the item listed)
Automotive GPS. Definitely a Garmin, probably a Nuvi 260.
Holga Camera and starter kit. This camera takes the coolest photographs! Click here to see some photos taken with this camera.
There are several things from Urban Outfitters that I want:
1. Deux Lux Pintuck Satchel Purse (Taupe)
2. Envirosax Flora Reusable Bags (I want to start using reusable bags instead of getting plastic bags at the grocery store, especially when I go to WinCo.)
3. Shirred Zip Up Hoodie. Size Large.
I am a girl crazy about shoes. A few pairs I want are:
Aldo City Fashion Centerville Wedges (carmel) size 8
Blowfish Stella Tea print (black or green) size 8 1/2
Sanuk Pocahontas Sidewalk Surfer Sandal Shoe (dark brown) size 8
Sanuk Taos Women's Fashionable Sidewalk Surfers size 8
For my new camera I would love to have a light meter and a uni-pod to help make my pictures rock!
4 and/or 5 iron golf club. They are the essentials that I am missing. I also would love a box of amazing golf balls that all the other golfers will be jealous of when they happen across it in the rough.
Ultra feminine Travel Bag (not suitcase) for the Airplane and weekend trips. I like the Vera Bradley Large Duffel (Java Blue, or Medallion), but I am open to suggestions. I am also in love with the Fleur-De-Lis Weekender bag from Anthropologie.
I need a nice travel toiletry bag (mine is falling apart) and a big cosmetics bag (maybe a Vera Bradley).
William-Sonoma is calling my name. I would like:
1. All-Clad Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and Spoons and Odd sized Cups (I already have the odd sized spoons)
2. Ruffled Cake stands (any color)
From Anthropolgie, I think the Right To Roam Skirt is so great.
A design book. I especially want "New Vintage Type" by Steven Heller, and "1000 Bags Tags and Labels" by Kiki Eldridge
I am still collecting fun glasses. I think some double malt glasses and beer mugs would both be amazing (I don't drink alcohol out of them... I just think they are great design and fun to use).
I always ADORE gift cards because I am in love with shopping and Jamba Juice...
Jamba, Urban Outfitters, H&M, Aldos, Shade Clothing, William Sonoma, Anthropologie, Pier1, amazon
Last, but not least, I would like a super cute knee length house robe that I would feel comfortable and cute in when I have to throw something on the answer the door, etc.
I really like the Sunday Brunch Robe from Anthropologie.

Celebrating 6 Months
Last Monday Ly and I had our 6 months anniversary of our marriage. To celebrate we decided to go Lava Hot Springs this weekend.
We had so much fun! It was snowing HUGE snowflakes the whole time we were out in the pools. It was a crazy feeling being super warm from the pools, but having our hair white with snow flakes. Unfortunately I didn't dare take pictures at the pools when it was snowing so heavily, but I did take this picture (with my new camera) of Lyle in the car on the 2 hour drive to the springs.
